Quislet is an energy being that can inhabit physical objects. Rotom is.. well, you get the idea. Pretty solid match.
So! That concludes my original Legionnaires. Night Girl and Polar Boy will come along with the rest of the Subs when I get to them; Legacies like Karate Kid II and Invisible Kid II were skipped because I’d pick the same Pokemon for them as for their originals.
Gates, XS, Monstress, and the rest of the Reboot-Only Legionnaires will also come along eventually.
Tellus, by all rights, should be Water / Psychic. But the only representatives of that combo are Starmie and the Slowpoke family, neither of which seemed to be a good fit. So I went with the next best thing.
And with Dawnstar, must come Wildfire. Our favorite disembodied Legionnaire - save one, perhaps - is a natural for Ghost/Fire typing, and guess what? Only one chain of Pokemon has that typing. And get this - Lampent’s flame actually draws in energy from those around it - making it a kind of anti-energy, perhaps?
All in all, Wildfire’s a tough Legionnaire to match well, but Lampent does a pretty good job.
I waffled on this one - Lucario would also be a fine choice. Fighting / Steel (or Steel / Fighting) just seems like the way to go for Mon-El - you can also consider this the choice for Superboy, Supergirl, and Andromeda/Laurel, if so inclined.
This was the toughest of the bunch. Transmutation isn’t really represented in Pokemon - but as the last of his kind, Jan certainly deserves a legendary - and Jirachi’s wish-granting powers aren’t a bad fit.
Gravity, Cosmic Power, Meteor Mash? Check. Star shape? Bonus. Metronome as metaphor for Thom’s schizophrenia? Double bonus. Thom was probably the second hardest to find a match for - the hardest is yet to come.
This one was tricky. Lightning Lass, or Light Lass? Well, the series’ only (non-legendary) Electric-Flying ‘mon covers both! Kinda. Gravity-based powers are nearly non-existent in these games. I am having a devil of a time with Star Boy.. though I have him narrowed down to three possibilities.
