FIRST ROUND: ROCKETS - BLAZERS GAME 6

Final: Rockets 98, Blazers 99

In the frenzied celebration following his buzzer-beating 3-pointer to eliminate the Houston Rockets from the playoffs, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillardgrabbed the public address microphone and shouted:

"Rip City!"

The hometown crowd roared.

The shot gave Portland a 99-98 victory in Game 6 on Friday night and propelled the Blazers to the Western Conference semifinals for the first time in 14 years.

"That’s definitely the biggest shot of my life," Lillard said, adding with a smile: "So far."

Portland, making its first playoff appearance since 2011, had been eliminated in the first round in its last six trips, and hadn’t advanced to the second round since 2000.

FINALS: SPURS - HEAT GAME 5

Final: Spurs 104, Heat 87

Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker, the winningest trio in NBA postseason history, shared hugs.

Players wrapped themselves in flags from around world, a reminder that the San Antonio Spurs look far beyond the border to build champions, as confetti fell from above.

Painfully denied 12 months ago by the Miami Heat, this victory party was worth the wait.

The Spurs finished off a dominant run to their fifth NBA championship Sunday night, ending the Heat’s two-year title reign with a 104-87 victory that wrapped up the series in five games.
