An ink drawing I did today of phoeniculus damarensis - the Violet Wood Hoopoe, aka Perskakelaar in Afrikaans. They are mainly found in Namibia.

I referenced a picture from an old Afrikaans book on birds called Voëls van Suider-Afrika (Struik publishers, 1993).

The drawing is fairly small, just smaller than an A5 page.

I used Speedball ink and a Speedball C-6 dipping nib.
