The five deaths that still make me cry in front of a TV

Five on-screen deaths that still break my heart:

1) Wally West in Young Justice - Seriously. This is the guy with everything to live for, who willingly decides to keep running even when its killing him.

2) Peter Grodin in Stargate: Atlantis - Awesome, understated, and he comforts the other guys before his impending death.

3) Boromir in Lord of the Rings - I don’t care if he was tempted by the ring and had the stupidest idea about trying to control an uncontrollably evil artifact, he tried to teach the hobbits how to fight, made them laugh, kept them going, and then gave his life to save them against an entire host of uruk-hai.

4) Haldir in Lord of the Rings - HE WASN’T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE THERE!

5) Ned Stark from Game of Thrones - The only reason I was willing to watch Season 1 was for the Starks, and then this happened:

Honourable future mention, naturally, has to go to Thorin, Fili and Kili, who will be leaving me a weeping mess in December: And no, to enhance how heartbreakingly tragic this is going to be, I’m not going to post a screencap from the movie, I’m posting this fanart with credit to Deviantart’s JayjoOakenshield:

ETA: What kind of idiot am I? I must have been drunk! I forgot these:

1) Rue from The Hunger Games

2) Mufasa from The Lion King

3) Phil Coulson in The Avengers

In the past I’ve switched pseuds between fandoms, mostly due to privacy concerns, with only a few of my friends knowing which ones are me.  For some reason in the last few weeks I started toying with the idea to link my old SGA pseud to my current one.  With the out of the blue running into a friend from the SGA fandom here on tumblr I decided to pull the trigger. \o/

From a creative standpoint it’s interesting to see how my writing has changed in the last eight/nine years.  From my use of descriptions to the switch from past to present tense but still maintaining third person limited.  Also, SGA is probably the fandom where I grew the most technically.  I used to have hella bad random-switching-pov-itis and my beta readers managed to grind that out of me.  Though as anndie1326, who has been warningly my commas for the last tenish years, will attest, I still can’t use a comma to save my god damn life.  My goal for the next tenish years maybe? ;)

Anyhoo, I’ve uplaoded them all to AO3 but I figure for funsies I’ll post a link here every day or so to a new old fic.

To get us started I’m just going to jump to probably my favorite from my SGA days.  I just remember it being a blast to write and served as an outlet for my “OMFG TECHNOLOGY DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY” angst.  Actually, in combo with both halves of my OTP getting killed off, bad science is why I stopped watching SGA.  Enjoy!
