The Whiskey Barons, Bosq and The Bogart, are a dj and production duo based in Boston. They work to tastefully update classic funky music from around the world to work with modern dance floors. This has resulted in a wide variety of well received originals, reworks, and edits that span the styles of latin, african, funk, soul, disco, house, reggae, and rock.

Salsa. Boogaloo. Classics. House. Soul. World. Afro. Funk

Straight up and down this is that authentic Boricua sound. These are the sounds that were “sampled” along with others to create salsa. Ive always argued that like Hip-Hop , salsa sampled different rhythms and sounds to create itself. What makes salsa, salsa is the attitude and feeling. Salsa is a product of the migration of Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, and Cubans to New York. Salsa was born in New York City.It is the product of the meshing of our traditions with our new realities. This album featured two of my favorite songs from Ismael and Cortijo from this era “Oriza” and “Volare”. #puertorico #cortijo #santurce #riceandbeanssound #palantenyc #vinyligclub #cultura

Super stupid early, but we have been working on this for a minute and cant wait to share this any more. We are bringing you some real special, living legend and Salsa’s underground king Benny Vargas has spent the last six decades killing stages worldwide with some of the heaviest salsa New York City has ever produced. In 1969 he and his crew of Brooklyn Boricuas dropped the now renowned album “Amaral Records presents Dax Pacem”. The record has gone on to become a classic among fans and viewed as a holy grail among Latin vinyl collectors. Throughout his iconic career Benny has worked with everyone from the Hector Lavoe to Louie Vega to Marc Anthony. Mr Nice Guy, as he was sarcastically nicked named, is now continuing that legacy of great salsa produced in the planet of Brooklyn by joining La Mecanica Popular for a special night guaranteed to be legendary! #¡dura! #nyctrust #palantenyc #daxpacem #lamecanicapopular #waxpoetics #salsanyc
