my feminist rage literally fuels me I was struggling to open a new pickle jar and my dad said “give it to me I’m a man” and I looked him dead in the eye and suddenly opened the jar without a problem I’m like the feminist hulk

gerard speaking openly about gender and saying he likes to be feminine while identifying as a man + using he/him pronouns is breaking social constructs. boys can be feminine and question the way society says they have to portray themselves. please don’t diminish this important message by saying he must be trans/non-binary and use they/them pronouns.

It’s 100% a love story. The best love stories are the ones where they don’t end up together. We very deliberately tried to make it like a love story. She has girl, she loses girl, she tries to win girl back. Just trying to make it feel like it was existing within the tropes of a romantic love story, then letting the reins go. It’s sad. That’s my favorite feeling in movies, that ache.

everyone is talking about this rn so i’d just like to remind everyone that you can identify with femininity and be a man. you can identify with masculinity and be a women. “feminine” and “masculine” are social constructs.

saying that gerard is trans/non-binary and using they/them pronouns after he has said multiple times that he prefers he/him pronouns and identifies as a man is really shitty. he could wear a dress, put glitter all over his face, be feminine as hell AND still be a man. forcing labels of any kind onto someone is wrong and harmful, i would think that you all know and respect that.
