I have always had a keen interest in history and longed to go back in time and live in a ‘simpler time’. Although I know from studying history throughout secondary school and university that it was not purely simple. What I desired was the absence of a technology centred world (ironic to say such things by typing on my laptop) in which texting and messaging your ‘friends’ is equally if not more acceptable than physical contact. A time where you could bite into an apple and not worry about what dangerous chemicals have been sprayed onto it or what hormones you could be ingesting alongside your meat.
The more I read about others quests to live a somewhat natural lifestyle, the more the prospect appeals to me. The ‘health movement’ has been around for quite some time but in my youth and laziness observed in my lack of attention or desire to change from the easy path, it wouldn’t spark the slightest interest in me. I am your typical twenty first century teenager, one ruled by the convenience of supermarkets, chemical soaked convenience foods and the epidemic that is Facebook. But the first step in changing ones ways is the ability to identify that there is a problem to change.
Yes, I admit a blog is a modern concept which relies on the use of computers and internet. I am not abstaining from using such things, as a university student in 2015 such a feat would be literally impossible. The beauty of documenting my journey on the internet is that it allows others to be inspired, like I was, and to learn and grow from my mistakes and successes in order to live a better lifestyle themselves. So please join me as I seek to change myself for the better, and feel free to contact me if you wish to share anything or ask any questions.
