I went to warped tour this year and I was really excited to go see Of Mice and Men. I was really hoping I would have a chance to meet them so I wanted to be there early so I can get the poster into their signing. Apparently my friend canceled on me last minute and I had to change my ride on the morning of warped and so I left later than I should have and the traffic on the way there was awful. I didn’t get into Warped Tour till 12:30 and by the time I found the tent (because we all know how easy it is to get lost at warped tour) it was already 1:30 and they had no posters left to get into the singing. I was so disappointed but I kept saying to myself ”Don’t let this get to you. You’ll get to see their set and meet other bands.” But I was wrong, even worse, I missed Of Mice and Men’s set too. I bought a band happy class with Crown The Empire a few weeks before and I didn’t know it was going to be at the exact time that OM&M plays. I was so devastated because they were one of the main bands I came for and I’ve been looking forward to it for such a long time. I made friends with a girl who I met at the CTE class and she had signing with Of Mice and Men. She asked if I could wait with her in line for the signing. At the time all of the bands I wanted to see had already played so I went with her and waited in line (even though I didn’t have a poster) because she was very nice and I was okay with sitting with her and waiting. She was in the last 60 people who got to meet OM&M for the singing and when it was her turn I waited on the side of the tent. I was really happy for her of course but at the same time it hurt a bit because I really wanted to meet them too. When she was done she said she had to go meet up with her brother and I didn’t know what to do so I stood there watching the ending of singing. Then Of Mice and Men stood up and started walking towards my way. They were rushing and on were on their way out back to their busses and had security with them. I was freaking out internally and Tino and Aaron walked passed me. I didn’t know what to do so I screamed “Can I get a selfie with one of you?” and Austin stops and turns to me and says “Quick! Go, go take the picture!” And I pulled out my phone and took it as fast as I could because security was pushing him to continue and Austin gave me a high five and left. I stood there in shock for a few minutes because I didn’t expect that to happen at all. I didn’t expect him to stop. Heck the whole day I thought I wouldn’t even get to see Of Mice and Men and then that happened! I am still happy about how I got to meet Austin Carlile, even if it was really quick. I smile every time I see the picture, I’m so grateful for it.
