off roading

So I have been thinking lately about BOVs and the debate about size vs functionality. When people talk about Bug Out Vehicles many talk about needing 4x4 off-road vehicles. They also talk about size to carry everything under the sun to survive. Also talked about is being able to take enough fuel to keep yourself going.

All these thoughts have brought me to consider the Toyota Tacoma and other smaller trucks (Ford Explorer Sport, Nissan Frontier, Chevy Colorado, Dodge Dakota) as a viable BOV. They still have the versatility of going off-road and carrying a fair amount of stuff but they also have the advantage of better maneuverability, better gas mileage, and easier to disappear then their bigger big brothers.

Just some food for thought.
