Artists! Original Fiction Big Bang needs you!

We’re closing in on the due dates for the rough drafts for this year’s stories, and we’d love to get some more artists signed up to help us make sure that all our awesome writers get some art for their stories.

If you’d like to take a look at some of the stories we’ve had written in previous years, take a look at our master lists: 2010, 2011, 2012. If you’d like to join us, head on over to the sign-up post at Dreamwidth and fill out a comment.

Sign-ups for artists end on August 12. Story summaries will go up for claiming on August 15, and the art will be due by September 28.

Come join us! Tell your friends! Spread the news around!

The sign-ups for the reversebang are still open until March 22, and the regular big bang sign-ups open on March 16. This year, we have two waves of fic writing, divided by length. You can check out previous year’s master lists: 2010, 2011, 2012.

Please pimp this out to your flists if you could, we’re kinda low on the reversebang sign-ups this year, and we’d love to get more people in on it. The RB fics have a 1,000 word minimum, and the regular fics are 5K and 10K for the two waves.

Welp, folks, it’s time to call a spade a spade and admit that this year’s main OFBB round just isn’t going to happen. Real life seems to be kicking us all while we’re down, and with three stories, there’s not much of a point going ahead with the rest of the big bang, so we’re going to call the year a half-success with the completed reversebang, and leave it at that.

Those of you who’ve submitted stories, please feel free to post them elsewhere if you want, they’re no longer bound to the OFBB, of course.

We’re very sorry things aren’t working out for most of us, and we’re glad those of you who’ve hung in there with us this long are here. We couldn’t have made this big bang the success it has been, and one year’s setback is not going to get us down. We haven’t yet discussed whether we’re going to just wait till next year and run things as normal, or if we’re going to try something new. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please feel free to leave us a comment or drop us a line at originalbigbang@gmail.com

OFBB2013 reversebang - sign-ups closed; artists, get your art in!

Hi everyone! The sign-ups for writers for the reversebang are now closed. Artists, you have until Monday, April 15th, to send us your art. Please follow the template in this post in your submissions. As soon as we get all the art in, we’ll put up a post with previews of the artwork, so authors can decide on what art they’d like to write for. The comments on the post will be disabled. On April 17th, we’ll open the post to comments.

Please head over to the DW community post for submission guidelines. We can’t wait to see all the awesome stuff you’ve made! :D

OFBB2013 Wave One - IMPORTANT

Because there were only seven people signed up for Wave #1 of this years OFBB, and only four people checked in last month, we’re going to combine the two due dates and have just one round for everyone. So, the new deadlines for everyone:

August 12 - rough drafts and summaries due
August 15 - summaries go up for claiming
September 28, 2013 - all final drafts due

Note: those of you who signed up for Wave #1, your minimum wordcount is still 5,000 words. If your story is done, and you feel like expanding it in the extra time you have, feel free to do so. If you don’t want to, you’re good to go as is.

We’d really appreciate it if you guys checked in this month, no matter how far along (or behind) you are on your story - we’d like to get an idea of how many people are still in the game.
