New York City Ballet’s principal dancer, Janie Taylor, lent her talent to create a stunning short film with Nowness that showcased Chloé’s dance-inspired S/S 2011 collection and Taylor’s ballet skills. Set to Philip Glass’s “String Quartet No. 3, ‘Mishima’: IV. 1962: Body Building,” the routine was created by choreographer and corps de ballet member, Justin Peck. Working with director Bon Duke, they wanted to create a multi-dimensional video to showcase all sides of ballet, which is normally experienced only from the front. Nowness, the “global culture platform,” has created some beautiful and visually stunning videos in the past, but certainly, the ballet and Chloé-inspired video is one of their best.
