Noonwraith - originally Południca in polish; It’s a female demon from polish folklore. According to the legends, Noonwraiths were coming to life in air whirls, however, other stories say that they were souls of woman who died just before their weddings. Noonwraiths usually showed up when the sun was at its highest and then danced in the light - if someone joined the circle, they could never leave it alive. They were forced to dance and usually died of exhaustion and fear.
"Noonwraiths are born at high noon out of heat, sadness and the sweat of ploughmen. Swaying grains on a windless day announce their arrival. In the hot air above the fields, they gather to dance madly, creating air vortexes, but the specters dislike being watched. Those who peep are forced to dance with them.
Since they are ghosts, no one who joins them leaves the circle alive.”
