This week’s haiku =

Flawless face of rouge,
Serene, silent elegance
Gracing her, named War

Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) is a space probe designed to study the Martian atmosphere while orbiting Mars. Mission goals include determining how the Martian atmosphere and water, presumed to have once been substantial, were lost over time. MAVEN was successfully launched on November 18, 2013.

To mark this special occasion, NASA invited members of the public to submit their names and a personal message online for a DVD to be carried aboard a spacecraft that will study the Martian upper atmosphere. The public also was encouraged to submit a message in the form of a three-line poem, or haiku.

Welcome to the sixteenth experiment of Naviar Haiku. Participants are to complete the task by Wednesday 30th April and post the track on our Soundcloud group https://soundcloud.com/groups/naviar-laboratory

"Great revelations of nature, of course, never fail to impress in one way or another, and I was no stranger to moods of the kind. Mountains overawe and oceans terrify, while the mystery of great forests exercises a spell peculiarly its own. But all these, at one point or another, somewhere link on intimately with human life and human experience. They stir comprehensible, even if alarming, emotions. They tend on the whole to exalt."

This is the thirty-third experiment of Naviar Haiku. Participants are to complete the task by Wednesday 27th August and post a track inspired by this haiku poem on Naviar’s Soundcloud group Naviar Laboratory: https://soundcloud.com/groups/naviar-laboratory

Somebody (Carlos R) took the time to write music inspired by my poem. This feels good to me given that it took me so long to get to a point I could say I love what I am doing with my life. One step, and it is a nice one for a change.
