After a series of high-level talks, Emirati Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has assured Egypt’s prime minister Ibrahim Mehleb that their relationship will continue to be strong.
The UAE is “continuing to support our brothers in Egypt on all levels,” said Nahyan. The Emirati Deputy Commander went on to say that “the United Arab Emirates is continue to stand by the Egyptians under all circumstances.”
In light of the upcoming presidential elections, many Egyptian officials are taking stances and forming or strengthening relationships with other countries. One of the main stances – shared by presidential hopeful and former defense minister Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi – is Egypt’s war on terrorism.
The assertion of strengthened relationships with the UAE only stands to better support Egypt’s fight against terrorism, both domestically and internationally.
