monderate

I have a gift/fetish for figuring out time signatures. My bass lesson teacher is a freak of nature who can comp chords on a piano with one hand and play bass solos with the other. He’s the guy who got me to listen to Hatchet Face because I mentioned Skúli Sverrisson to him. That song is full of weird meter changes and I picked some parts out of the song and figured out what they were in and made sure I was right by emailing the teacher and I was. But what’s weird to me is that he said he was amazed because I nailed a part of the song that had him stumped until he got a book of Ben Monder compositions with that song in it. I’m a shrimp compared to that guy and he said he was amazed and now I’m amazed. It’s really dumb to everyone ever but I aspire to be even half as good as that guy is and I impressed him.
