Valley Of The Go Go Dancing Doll!
I blame it all on a high fever and a week of isolation in the deepest, darkest, English Countryside. Having spent a week in bed recovering from la grippe, during which I devoured every glamorously camp 1960s film I could access online, including, of course, the original 1967 version of Valley Of The Dolls, I felt compelled to bouffant my hair, zip up my favourite vintage party dress and jump on the largest table top I could find for un petit go-go dance.

Wearing: A vintage 1960’s rayon and nylon dress and a pair of vintage 1960’s ostrich skin shoes by Mr LaRose of Jacksonville.

Miss Lala Takes Thé À La Crème With Nancy

As the Spring/Summer 2014 shows and press days gather pace in the fashion capitals du monde, my enforced exile in the most isolated of English country homes’ continues. There is,of course, the odd advantage to not dashing around divinely smoky, dirty cities in pursuit of la latest mode. Like having le temps to waft about a large drawing room, dressed head to toe en crème (far too impractical a colour palette for subway, tube or taxi) ,drinking afternoon tea from vintage china cups and re reading the entire fictional works of Nancy Mitford. Oui, fashion metropolis bubble, I miss you très, très beaucoup, but as Nancy aptly said,

” Life is sometimes sad and often dull, but there are currents in the cake and here is one of them”

Wearing; a vintage 1940s American dress, gold three strap shoes by Vivienne Westwood, cream beret by Agnes B, gold charm bangle by Annina Vogel, my grandmothers gold 1950’s charm bracelet and Cocktail Time ring by Jessica De Lotz

Today’s outfit is pin up inspired. I can never manage to pull the entire look off because I’m just no good at doing all those fabulous fifties hairstyles. Besides which, I like to add a few modern pieces to keep the look contemporary. I am wearing a yellow cardigan and red shoes by Vivienne Westwood, my good old 3/4 length jeans by Moto for Topshop, vintage fifties sunglasses and belt and a frilled polka dot bustier from my lingerie label, Miss Lala Presents. The location is the old train station in the picturesque town of Svendborg in Denmark.
