okay so I always usually promo my good friends and some writers I stalk. but I never really promo myself unless its another character’s blog of mine like Inara, from Firefly, a smaller rp community. I feel like Draco is at this point now where he’s getting a steady influx of followers, that I don’t feel like I desperately need to promo, in the shy hopes that someone would frown upon me or roleplaying only for the followers, which is not the case. I never thought that my Draco would gain this many. But then I see some of the bigger name canon’s (no one in particular, just general observation) who have like 1k, far far more than I have, and are still self promoing. And I’m just like sitting here thinking. Why do you need to promo when you’ve just hit 1k? It just leaves me on the fence about selfpromoing. Because then I start to think. I just saw your bias list of a 1k follower goal and you’re still self promoing, are you just doing this for the asks, and followers. I just see this all the time, and goals are nice, but recently I’ve just been seeing a lot of promoing on my dash and it makes me wonder if those follower goals have become subconsciously something that we’re more aware about than the fun of writing? I never have had to formally promo my Draco blog and I don’t think I need to, but I’m not sure if I should follow the trend because gaining followers is always nice. But it really isn’t why I started writing for Draco in the first place and I don’t want it to be the reason I do. Food for thought.
