Excited & honored to have 6 of my images chosen by THE MMS GALLERY in Philadelphia to be on display for the ARCHITECTURE EXHIBIT featuring a host of  International Mobile Photographers. Below is some information I glommed from the O3 WORLD website regarding the event, its founders and the event sponsers.

MMS Gallery Showing Set for Thursday, February 10th at O3 World

January 31, 2011

O3 World will be hosting the second Masterpieces Made Simple Gallery event on Thursday, February 10th at 7 pm. The MMS Gallery, a concept developed by Hilary Sedgwick and Kenny Kim, is a showcase of photos from people’s mobile phones. The first gallery was open to submissions of any kind, where this segment is focused on architecture. The third event, which we’ll be accepting submissions for next, is going to be focused on food photos. We have received 1000’s of submissions from several states and several countries over the course of both events so far, and the first event received press from Thrillist, KYW News Radio’s Positively Philadelphia segment and GPTMC’s Uwishunu blog.

And a special thanks to all of the sponsors for the event: Tiger Printing Group, Di Bruno Brothers, Palateur Imports, Blue Moon, Pilsner Urquell, Leinenkugel’s and Miller High Life.

Should you find yourself in the neighborhood of 1000 N. Hancock Street, Philadelphia this Thursday, stop by and check out the exhibit, I heard that last time they had a great deli spread put out by DiBruno Bros. and some fantastic beers.

-Cheers, Max.

Tilt-shift has been around in analog photography for years, but a crop of iPhone apps that simulate the effect has led to some great iPhotography experiments.

You’re no doubt familiar with the classic tilt-shift photos that makes cityscapes look like toy towns with “fake miniature” people and vehicles. Here, we’ve looked beyond that and found 10 fantastic photos that make use of the shallow depth of field to great effect.

Have a look through the gallery below for our hand-picked tilt-shift showcase. Let us know in the comments below which ones you think have made best use of the special effect.
