Tahiti Pehrson is the awe-inspiring artist whose work has been seen on 24th street in the Mission, in the San Francisco Magazine March fashion issue, and in the home of a recent LOCZIdesign remodel.

I had the chance to interview him for this week’s blog post and he luckily obliged my awkwardness!

LOCZIdesign designed theSeed of Life lounge at the 2013 Exploratorium Gala in San Francisco. Surrounded by movable screens woven from lightweight material and a wall of soil, the environment is layered with earth-toned glass, wood, soft wool and laser-cut metal.  Behind the roots, a screen will reflect the sound surrounding the space, offering a dance of vibrations from music.  It’s the kind of living room where time escapes.

New York Design Week was a whirlwind of design adventure, one highlight was the neon post-modern utopia of Sight Unseen OFFSITE! Monica Khemsurov and Jill Singer of the website Sight Unseen also co-founded this show in conjunction with NYCxDesign and ICFF. It enchantingly combined the works of independent design studios alongside those from established, forward-thinking brands, creating a small but well curated venue for industry professionals and design enthusiasts.
