Lagunitas comes to us from Petaluma, CA. They offer a wide range of brews, and I’ve had the good fortune to try out several of them, but there are certainly several more I’d be more than happy to come across.
Their Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale is a hybrid beer, combining elements of both a wheat ale and an IPA. For people out there who may not be crazy about either of those styles, meeting in the middle with a Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ might be the way to go!
The smell comes across as a combo of both citrus and hops, which was rather pleasant. I definitely noticed a strong hop presence right off the bat, but it’s not too bitter. It has an underlying sweetness that comes through, which I think prevents it from becoming a more typical IPA. It kept my palate guessing through much of the bottle which made it quite enjoyable. Definitely worth your time in my opinion. Cheers!
