For the LetsDrawSherlock Historical Moments challenge I wanted to draw Sherlock and Redbeard from the story of Hachiko. Whenever I visited Tokyo, meeting friends at Hachiko’s statue at Shibuya Station is pretty much a given. The bronze statue was built in memory of the “faithful dog” and Professor Ueno (of Tokyo University)’s relationship. Hachiko and the professor would walk together daily to the station where Ueno would then take the train to work. When he would come home later that day, Hachiko would always be waiting there for him so that they could walk back together. Unfortunately one day, Professor Ueno tragically passed away before he could come home. But for years Hachiko would continue to wait for his beloved professor to return.
In the spirit of the holidays, the challenge theme this month is gift giving! Choose a character in Sherlock (any version, BBC, RDJ, etc) and give them a gift! The gift could be from another character(s), or from you, or whatever you can imagine. You can draw them unwrapping it, discovering it, deducing it, rejecting it. It could be given for any holiday you choose, or any reason, not just Christmas. The gift could even be given out of spite rather than love @-@ Let’s just see some giving spirit!
BONUS CHALLENGE: Make your piece a gift for someone! Draw something that you know someone else likes and dedicate it to them~ This isn’t required; we just thought it might be fun :))
BONUS BONUS if you want to make one of those anime girlfriend style posts where you bring up a screencap of the character on your laptop and present their gift to the screen like they are a real person then we will accept that as a 3rd entry. Sorry followers but those are hilarious and I hope we get a lot of them ಠ_ಠ
Before starting on your piece, please read the full guidelines under the read more.
sherlock forgets to eat. he especially forgets to eat when he’s working on some experiment or other, so john’s taken to leaving plates of snacks by the man’s elbow as silent reminders that all transports require fuel to run properly.
he left a plate of apple slices once, only to be met by sherlock’s scornful: “aren’t apples supposed to keep doctors away, especially when i’m obviously busy?”
today, as john walked by the consulting detective, he immaturely shoved an entire apple into sherlock’s mouth, which was conveniently open (probably to tell him to piss off). john had a good laugh at the look of flaming indignation on sherlock’s face.
he had an even bigger laugh when he returned from his own lunch to find that sherlock had forgotten about the apple in his mouth completely; sherlock was currently gazing thoughtfully at a bottle of purple pills, fruit still held in his mouth.
