It’s the most wonderful time of the year! LEC’s annual Festive Weekend is happening this weekend, November 28-30. This is a great way to relieve some stress of the busiest time of year and celebrate all of the upcoming holidays, no matter what you choose to celebrate, with your community! Festive Weekend has always been one of my favourite times of the year and I highly encourage you to come out to some of the events to get in to the holiday spirit with your fellow LECers! Here is the schedule for the weekend:
Friday, Nov. 28
5:30-7:00: Festive College Dinner! The LEC Caf will be serving a delicious turkey dinner that is FREE for all off-campus students. You can pick up a ticket at the LEC Cabinet Office until Wednesday afternoon. The dress code is semi-formal and the dinner atmosphere will be really special! LEC Angels, which are nice holiday messages for LEC students, will be given out at the dinner as well.
7:00-9:00: LEC Celebrates Culture and the Holidays. Come to the Pit for dessert and to learn about different cultural practices and holidays. This event is drop-in style and features booths from the Trent University Native Association (TUNA) as well as different Cabinet members.
Saturday, Nov. 29
12:00-4:00: Holiday Study Break! Come to the LEC Caf anytime between 12noon-4:00pm for a gingerbread house contest, cookie decorating, a holiday movie marathon and holiday card making!
Sunday, Nov. 30
10:00-12:00noon: FREE Pancake Breakfast with Santa! Come to the LEC Caf to enjoy a free pancake breakfast and chat with Santa Claus about what’s on your Christmas list (like As on all your exams!).
3:30-6:00: Carolling and Holiday Card Delivery at Riverview Manor! Spend a couple of hours singing carols (no vocal talent required) and delivering holiday cards to residents at the Riverview Manor Retirement Residence. Off-Campus meet-up spot is the downtown bus terminal to catch the 4:00pm West Bank bus.

Remember to take a break this weekend and take some time to celebrate the holidays and the end of the semester with the LEC Community! See you there!
