Pierce the Light || Inari || Ch. 2 Body Discovery
The second the lights went on, Inari’s consciousness went with the darkness. By the time they came-to, the sounds of chatter outside their room caused the pounding of their heart to intensify. The translator slipped out of their room, this time prepared in their normal outfit, and they walked until they reached the bedroom.
The first thing they noticed was the smell. It hit them like a wave, and they immediately put their cape over their nose as they moved inside to take a better look at the body.
It was that lapidarist. Inari didn’t remember their name clearly, but it was still depressing to see that someone else was dead. Their normal mask of neutrality was broken by a downcast expression, and their heart was twisting inside their chest as they thought. But how could they have been killed in the dark? Inari dipped their head to the body, letting a moment of silence settle, before they turned around and wordlessly started examining the perimeter of the room.
