We met before our bodies had an exchange.
Intertwined in the cosmos as nomadic
galactic dust, we lived in the pulse of the universe.
You are unfamiliar physically, but that spirit I know like the route to my house.
I have traveled your map many times, and
each time with different looking baggage.
In this realm, we have never spoken, but your arrival
has been forecasted since before my birth.
I want to sit still in the midst of this chaos, and explain to you
how much I have missed you.
—  Mira BothWays, “I’ve Been Waiting.”

Tú eres mi otro yo. Si te daño a ti, me daño a mi mismo. Si te respeto a ti, me respeto a mi mismo.

You are my other me. If I harm you, I harm myself. If I respect you, I respect myself.

—  Mayan concept “In Lak’ech” (You are my other me)

The Maya have a Law, “In Lak’ech Ala K’in” which mean I am another yourself. It also means I am you, and you are me. This is a Law of oneness and unity. In the Yucatan, they salute each each other with In Lak’ech, and the proper response is Ala Kín or as some people pronounce it as Hal A Ken…is the response, which says the same thing, to your “you are another me” answers “YOU are the other me”

The more you live in “In Lak’ech Ala K’in”, the less you will think in terms of our separateness. You will no longer perceive competition, jealousy or envy, hate or any negative emotion between us, because now your perception is that we are pieces of each other. When you live this reality of unity, you begin to experience abundance and wholeness.

In Mayan tradition, there is a greeting that many people working with Mayan wisdom know of. It is the law of In Lak’ech Ala K’in, which means I am another yourself (A modern day interpretation). It also means I am you, and you are me (A traditional Mayan interpretation). We have come to understand that this Mayan greeting is an honoring for each other. It is a statement of unity and oneness. In Lak’ech Ala K’in mirrors the same sentiment of other beautiful greetings such as Namaste for East India, Wiracocha for the Inca, and Mitakuye Oyasin for the Lakota. It doesn’t matter which culture you come from. But when one of these sacred greetings is given, there is always an action of placing the hands over the heart.

The more I walk the Mayan path, the more I understand the depth that In Lak’ech Ala K’in teaches. This greeting has become more than a simple, honorable Maya greeting. It has evolved into a moral code, and a way to create a positive reality for all life.

If you had not suffered as you have, there would be no depth to you as a human being, no humility, no compassion. You would not be reading this now. Suffering cracks open the shell of ego, and then comes a point when it has served its purpose.
Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary.
—  Eckhart Tolle

We’re all pretty damn dope & amazing :)

“How is it possible that a being with such sensitive jewels as the eyes, such enchanted musical instruments as the ears, and such fabulous arabesque of nerves as the brain can experience itself anything less than a god.”

-Alan Watts

A soul connection is a resonance between two people who respond to the essential beauty of each other’s individual natures, behind their facades, and who connect on this deeper level. This kind of mutual recognition provides the catalyst for a potent alchemy. It is a sacred alliance whose purpose is to help both partners discover and realize their deepest potentials. While a heart connection lets us appreciate those we love just as they are, a soul connection opens up a further dimension… seeing and loving them for who they could be, and for who we could become under their influence. This means recognizing that we both have an important part to play in helping each other become more fully who we are. A soul connection not only inspires us to expand, but also forces us to confront whatever stands in the way of that expansion.

Forget the racism, nationalism, and all forms of prejudice taught and set in place to keep us too busy fighting eachother to notice the shit that goes on in the world… the important shit. If we remain divided then we will continue to be conquered; if we unite, then we will prosper.

Much Love & healing to everyone
