Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag some friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them!

tagged by the charmingly creepy sicknessinsalvation aka silverhells aka samtheheinousanus aka sloths for mike (see Mike I’m learning all of them) P.S. sorry I didn’t see this right away! I haven’t been checking my tag

  1. The End of Mr. Y by Scarlett Thomas
  2. The Magician’s Assistant by Ann Patchett
  3. The Immortals Series by Tamora Pierce (Wild Magic, Wolf Speaker, Emperor Mage, and The Realms of the Gods)
  4. Eat Cake by Jeanne Ray
  5. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  6. The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
  7. Dry by Augusten Burroughs
  8. The Enchanted Forest Series by Patricia C. Wrede who I thought was Patricia E. for a good five years because of the script on the front of the book (Dealing with Dragons, Searching for Dragons, Calling on Dragons, and Talking to Dragons)
  9. The Fablehaven Series by Brandon Mull (Fablehaven, Rise of the Evening Star, Grip of the Shadow Plague, Secrets to the Dragon Sanctuary, and Keys to the Demon Prison)
  10. Mercy by Toni Morrison

I kind of cheated with the series but as a whole they were imprinted on me. I’ve listed the books of the series in order in case anyone would like to look them up. I didn’t include plays because I thought that was even worse cheating :p

I’m tagging some people but please feel free to do this if you want to! I’d love to see what books you like :)

@klangeak You totally don’t have your messages set up so I couldn’t send you a message but,

I love you, you’re awesome. Thank you for putting up with me.

I couldn’t find my original post about this, but my best friend Katie (klangeak follow her she’s perfect) was going through a period of self doubt. I knew what she was going through and I made a batch of little cards with drawings and reasons that I love her in envelopes that I made. She just opened the first one (seen above).

The last time my parents visited Katie (and her sister) came out to dinner with all of us. I was constantly abandoning my family to hang out with Katie (because of reasons).

The story behind this one: On the way home from dinner with my family, the roommate that was available, Katie and her sister Maegan (follow her too) where I was alone in the car with my parents my Dad asked if I was dating Katie. He kind of had a weird rambly speech attached to it. Basically my dad was like “errrr are you dating Katie? I mean it’s cool if you are, I consider you as gender neutral and stuff …” My response was “no, she’s straight, and I’m glad were on the same page”

So basically Katie is awesome and she was the instrument in my “coming out” to my parents.
