August Rush (2007). A drama with fairy tale elements, where an orphaned musical prodigy uses his gift as a clue to finding his birth parents.

This is a sweet little family film with fantastical elements and a rather lovely portrayal of the personality of music. That said, there’s some about it that makes me think of a TV movie, I don’t know what it is. I think it might be the very basic (and pretty uninspired to be frank) costuming and set pieces. Sweet film, but really nothing transformative. 6.5/10.

Day 27 – A movie that you wish you had seen in theaters

August Rush (2007)

You know what music is? God’s little reminder that there’s something else besides us in this universe, a harmonic connection between all living beings, every where, even the stars.

Here are a few shots of Cillian at the launch of Corcadorca Theatre Company’s 2005 outdoor series. He’s photographed with Disco Pigs director Kristen Sheridan, with Corcadorca artistic director Pat Kiernan (the one he nagged to get his role in Disco Pigs) and company director Fin O'Flynn.

Wish these didn’t have watermarks. Have only seen one from the event before without the tags. Hoping we can find some clean ones soon.
