==> John and Karkat: Walk down the street.
New York really was a lively and unique place. They call it the city that never sleeps, and for real good reason. Wherever the pair turned, there was nothing more than a never-ending cascade of blinding lights all around them, the various sounds of a city pervading the air; businessmen hailing taxis to get home from work, teenagers skateboarding and harassing kids in the streets, voices of many different accents advertising their delicious hot dogs, that sort of thing. Truly, it was a sight unlike any other, and John couldn’t help but marvel. He had never been to New York before, having been confined within a suburban neighborhood pretty much his whole life. It was a bit overwhelming for him, so he was thankful that he had Karkat at his side to walk with.
>You look at Karkat and smile.
“This city is really something,” John said offhandedly. “What do you think? I love it.”
