The Fosters: Jonnor in 2x15
Here’s the theater and lunch scenes from 2x15
I love that Jude had no idea Connor liked him until the moment at the movie. Connor’s reaction to people (mis?)interpreting their relationship led Jude to assume Connor was straight—which is why I am so happy with the writers.
Connor overuses (again) masculine phrases/terms; he refers to himself as a “dude,” says he’s interested in a girl because she’s hot, and avoids Jude until he has a girl to keep that boundary between them.
Here’s the dialogue from the movie playing in the theater (it serves as a parallel for the moment):
Guy: “Can you think of a better reason [to not be together]? I can’t. I’ll let you go if you look me in the eye and tell me you don’t feel what I feel.” (At this point, Jude had looked at Connor.)
Girl: “Todd…it’s…it’s too much…”
Guy: “I know you want this, Kendra, I can see it in your eyes.” (Presumably, the two characters are kissing, and Connor and Jude are touching pinkies)
The way both boys struggle with their feelings is also brilliantly portrayed by both Gavin and Hayden. There was a lot to juggle with their multitude of emotions and motivations, but the little details of their interactions throughout the episode were well calculated. (especially Jude’s little flinch when he snaps out of looking at Connor and the sort of hollow smile Connor gives Dahlia in class).
I do wonder—Did Connor put the armrest down with the intention of doing something like the pinkie touch, or was it spur of the moment (both are good)? What’s going to happen next, as Jude has said before he doesn’t want to be Connor’s secret? And, as always, what happened in the tent?
