The entire right wing universe (including Drudge Report) is now screaming about this post by, yes, the Dumbest Man on the Internet again, claiming that anonymous sources told him officer Darren Wilson suffered an “orbital blowout fracture to the eye …

In case you need to discredit the BS story about the cop having an orbital blowout fracture, this is a pretty complete takedown of the source.

An open letter to the rightwing blogosphere.

[In particular, Jim Hoft (Gateway Pundit), who gleefully informs his readers that the Tea Party terrorists in Las Vegas were “socialists.”]

Why don’t you talk about how they bragged about being a part of the Bundy ranch standoff? Why don’t you talk about how they loved the Tea Party, the Heritage Foundation, Rand Paul, the NRA, and Americans for Prosperity? Why don’t you talk about how they covered the bodies of their victims with the Tea Party Gadsden Flag?

This goes far, far beyond your usual ridiculous spin. Now you’re just plain lying to your readers. These weren’t “socialists,” these are the rightwing extremists DHS tried to warn us all about so many years ago. These were the sort of conservatives rightwing blogs cater to; gullible people who’ve been worked up into a total panic with BS stories about runaway socialism, creeping Sharia, and how Obama is Joseph Adolf Hitlerstalin, You and the rest of the rightwing echo chamber have scared plenty of people literally out of their wits — and now they’re acting out in their panic.

This is what it looks like when armed “patriots” start going tyrant-hunting. You had to have seen this coming. You had to know it would all end in violence.

But you just didn’t care. Apparently, now that it’s happened, you still don’t. You just keep pouring gas on that fire, even as it’s so clearly spreading wildly out of control.

Also, no ambulance was called for Wilson, and no first aid was administered by other officers, which seems odd if he had indeed suffered this type of serious injury — or any injury at all.

And there’s more evidence that Hoft is trying to pull a fast one again; here is the original image posted at the AAPOS site, showing a CT scan of a blowout fracture (on the left), compared to the image posted at Gateway Pundit by Hoft (on the right):

Original example CT scan (L), compared to altered image posted by Jim Hoft (R)

Notice the difference? In the version posted by Jim Hoft, the text at bottom right that says “UNIV OF IOWA” has been crudely erased. Caught you, Jim.

Was Hoft trying to mislead his readers into thinking this was the actual X-ray (or CT scan) of Darren Wilson? His text does not make it clear it wasn’t Wilson’s CT scan — and the words “UNIV OF IOWA” have been blacked out, quite deliberately.

If Hoft’s intent was to mislead, it worked. All over Twitter and right wing blogs, the wingnuts are raving about “Darren Wilson’s X-ray” that shows a fractured eye socket — but this is just a generic example image of an unknown person’s CT scan.

Time will tell if Wilson is going to claim he had this type of injury, but nobody should take Jim Hoft’s word for it.

And one more point while I’m at it; Hoft writes:

This comes from a source within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and confirmed by the St. Louis County Police.

If that’s true, it’s highly disturbing that the St. Louis prosecutor’s office and the St. Louis County police department are leaking information to a far right hateblogger known for his unrelenting dishonesty, who uses a white supremacist hate group as a source.

Jim Hoft caught lying as usual.

From Jim Hoft on The Gateway Pundit, continuing the pseudo-birther claptrap following Elizabeth Warren. A short explanation:

The New England Historic Genealogical Society quickly put out a statement standing by its research suggesting that Ms. Warren is 1/32 Native American.

The society said that particularly with Native American history, history is often passed down orally, and that full paper evidence and documents were often not kept or are incomplete. The society said its research had found records of “several family members who noted Cherokee Indian lineage via Elizabeth Warren’s 3rd great-grandmother.”

Well, Scott Brown is claiming Elizabeth Warren is 1.) not Native American or 2.) only pulls it out to advance her career. As far as career advancement, here’s an answer: Doesn’t look like it

Kevin Noble Maillard explains it well:

This tactic is straight from the Republican cookbook of fake controversy. First, you need a rarefied elected office typically occupied by a certain breed of privileged men. Both the Presidency and the Senate fit this bill. Second, add a bit of interracial intrigue. It could be Kenyan economists eloping with Midwestern anthropologists, or white frontiersmen pairing with indigenous women. Third, throw in some suspicion about their qualifications and ambitions. Last but not least, demand documentation of ancestry and be dissatisfied upon its receipt. Voila! You have a genuine birther movement.

The Republican approach to race is to feign that it is irrelevant — until it becomes politically advantageous to bring it up. Birthers question Obama’s state of origin (and implicitly his multiracial heritage) in efforts to disqualify him from the presidency. They characterize him as “other.” For Warren, Massachusetts Republicans place doubts on her racial claims to portray her as an opportunistic academic seeking special treatment. In both birther camps, opponents look to ancestral origins as the smoking gun, and ride the ambiguity for the duration.

Hence, the image above. It’s okay to use racist, photoshopped imagery to mock Elizabeth Warren BECAUSE SHE’S NOT REALLY AN INDIAN, YOU GUISE!! </sarcasm>   Jim Wrenn goes further in the name of satire. Really:

image

Wrenn writes:

In response to polling surges by her opponent (Republican incumbent Scott Brown) in the 2012 race for the Senate in Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren-Tonto, noted Native American, Harvard Faculty Member, and Senate Candidate, said to her Lone Ranger sidekick: “It looks like they’ve got us,” to which her sidekick replied, “What you mean ‘us’ White-Eyes?” She replied, “You mean all 1/32nds?”

Why is this particularly terrible? Wrenn is using the 1/32nd Cherokee blood quantum as justification for racist “satire” — however, Warren has the same blood quantum as Bill John Baker, the principal chief of the Cherokee nation.

The perpetuation of slurs by commentators is the saddest part of all this non-troversy. As writer Navajo said on Native American Netroots:

The right-wing’s instant response regarding Warren’s claims of a Native heritage was to make fun of her by slurring Indians with a flurry of insults using stereotypes and calling her “Pinocchio-hontas,” “Faux-hontas,” “Chief Full-of-Lies,” “Running Joke” “Sacaja-whiner” and “Spreading Bull.” A name like Sitting Bull should be treated with respect. Why is this the first thing people think to do when they want to make fun of Indians?

The slurs reminded me of the same sad treatment I received as I was growing up.

When those on the right smear Elizabeth Warren, they smear more people than just Elizabeth Warren. It’s cheap, it’s racist, it’s not satire, and it’s an old, unoriginal canard from the days of slamming women and minorities for benefiting from affirmative action.

Wait… It’s NOT an old canard?

Exactly.

Little Green Footballs is an old man in the world of political blogs. Nominally right-wing, Little Green Footballs (LGF) is best known for its efforts to keep other right-wing blogs honest. When The Gateway Pundit (TGP) claimed that Michael Brown attacked Officer Wilson, and caused a severe skull fracture, LGF went out and found that TGP invented the claim out of whole cloth, and even posted a faked CT scan (top) to back the story up.

Here are the symptoms of an orbital blowout fracture, the injury which TGP had claimed Officer Wilson was suffering.

The most common symptoms are bruising, tenderness and swelling around the eye; redness of the eye; double vision, ordiplopia (seeing two images at the same time); numbness of the cheek, nose or teeth; nose bleeds (epistaxis) [See figure 1].

Symptoms that typically indicate a more serious injury are pain on eye movement, double vision, air under the skin around the eye, and numbness of the cheek/mouth/nose on the side of the injury. Severe trauma may cause facial bone fractures, injury to the eye itself, and injuries to the skull/brain.

For suffering a major injury, Officer Wilson was demonstrating no pain, discomfort, nor was an ambulance called for the treatment of the potentially life threatening injury.

If one has to invent excuses, in an attempt to speak ill of the dead, then there is a major problem with the argument being presented. By faking an injury, through a “secret source” which would pass it to someone who is known to have white supremacist sympathies, if this were true, it would paint the Saint Louis county police department, and the Ferguson PD, in an even worse light than before. Instead however it looks to be just a case of right-wing trickery, one which even reached to the New York Post. Of course, the New York Post did insist that Arnold Schwarzenegger was running for president and blamed the wrong person for the Boston Bombing.

Just because a story fits the narrative you want does not mean you should run with it. The right-wing wants Michael Brown to be a bad guy, so they saw this and went with it, never questioning the validity.

Thank you to LGF for helping to keep the blogosphere honest, and shame on TGP for running a fake story.

More Lies From Police About Mike Brown

Police and news reports have falsified facts about Darren Wilson’s injuries, the officer who shot and killed Mike Brown, and the nature of the 911 calls made from the convenience store Brown allegedly robbed.

The officer who shot and killed Mike Brown was reportedly injured during the incident - according to right wing blogger Jim Hoft.

Turns out, Hoft was intentionally misleading his readers, and has no credible source to this claim. This didn’t stop right wing news stations like Fox from picking up the story, however, and reporting it as fact.

Hoft used an image of a CT scan from the University of Iowa, erased the university name and logo, and passed it off in his blog posts as the CT of Darren Wilson. The image was flashed around news sites before a simple reverse image searched turned up the truth. Officer Wilson was not treated at the scene for any injuries nor did he request treatment, and appears in several videos walking around, not several injured and incapacitated as reported.

Surveillance footage is also turning up of Mike Brown at the counter of the convenience store he supposedly robbed. He is shown at the counter exchanging with an employee. It can’t be proved or disproved that he did indeed purchase the cigars he left with. However, the owners of the store came forward and spoke through their attorney on Friday, saying that they never called 911 about a robbery. They presume that any 911 calls made were by a costumer. They emphasize that they had no complaints to police about Mike Brown.

The idea that Brown robbed a store and was therefore in an ‘aggressive state of mind’ during his confrontation with Wilson is looking less and less likely.

Jim Hoft, (@gatewaypundit), is one of the top conservative bloggers and is often quoted by Fox News—which says a lot about them since his trademark is to write anything without verification or even proofreading. His track record of being wrong and his sheer incompetence has earned him the appropriate title of the dumbest man on the Internet.

And that was before today, when he showed that he is also a complete bastard:

#BringBackOurBalls ➙ Sorry Libs, The Schoolgirls Have Already Been Sold, Put on Canoes & Shipped to Chad

He went to mock Michelle Obama for tweeting the viral photo of her holding the same sign as the parents of the kidnapped children:

#BringBackOurGirls. And then closed with this gem:

So good luck bringing “our girls” back.
You’re too late.

Ha Ha… suck it Obama! Those 9 to 12 year old girls will be made into sex slaves! That’ll show us “libs”! (and the quotes around “our girls”—nice touch.)

Conservative media began politicizing the first case of Ebola virus diagnosed in the United States almost immediately, speculating as to whether the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) could be trusted to contain the virus considering its ties to the Obama administration and about Obama’s own role in the diagnosis.

CDC Announces First Case Of Ebola Diagnosed In United States

CDC: First Case Of Ebola Found In Texas. In a September 30 joint press release with the Texas Health Department, the CDC confirmed that the first case of Ebola had been diagnosed in the United States earlier in the day:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed today, through laboratory tests, the first case of Ebola to be diagnosed in the United States in a person who had traveled to Dallas, Texas from Liberia. The patient did not have symptoms when leaving West Africa, but developed symptoms approximately four days after arriving in the U.S. on Sept. 20. [Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 9/30/14]

Right-Wing Media Jump To Politicize Diagnosis

Fox Host To CDC Director: Given That You’re Part Of Obama Administration, “Why Should We Believe You” On Ebola Facts? On Fox & Friends, host Steve Doocy asked CDC Director Tom Frieden why he should be trusted to talk about the Ebola virus given his role in the Obama administration:

DOOCY: One other theme we got on the email, Doctor, was this — and this is a political thing, but you’re part of the administration. They feel that the administration has misled a lot of people on a lot of things. Why should we believe you when you’re telling us this stuff? [Fox News, Fox & Friends10/1/14]

Laura Ingraham Wondered If We Should “Believe What The Government Is Telling Us About Ebola,” Considering What It Said About Obamacare. During the October 1 edition of her radio show, Laura Ingraham asked if listeners “believe what the government is telling us about Ebola,” pointing to a “crisis in leadership, in confidence, in credibility, in competence in our nation.” Discussing what she deemed to be the country’s “biological incapability of telling the truth,” Ingraham tied the Ebola diagnosis to the Affordable Care Act, claiming that “none of” what the government said about Obamacare has come true. [Courtside Entertainment Group, The Laura Ingraham Show10/1/14]

Ingraham: Obama’s “Core Ties To The African Continent” Are Influencing His Response To Ebola And Endangering U.S. Later on her radio program, Ingraham accused Obama of having political reasons for failing “to stop these planes from coming in from Sierra Leone.” She went on: “Obama, familial connection with Africa. He has an enormous amount of, I think, you know, core ties to the African continent. He’s mindful of his own family history there. … Come on, it doesn’t make any sense not to have stopped these flights from coming in.” [Courtside Entertainment Group, The Laura Ingraham Show10/1/14]

Right-Wing Blogger Jim Hoft: “Obama Defers Deportation of Liberians On Same Day TX Ebola Patient Enters Hospital.” On his Gateway Pundit blog, Jim Hoft linked the Ebola case to Obama’s decision to defer deportation proceedings for Liberian refugees, writing, “Barack Obama issued a presidential memorandum on September 26th to defer deportations of Liberians, the same day the Texas Ebola patient first visited the hospital.” [GatewayPundit.com, 10/1/14]

Fox’s Tantaros: Despite What CDC Says, The Government Can’t Handle Ebola If It “Can’t Even Build A Website.” During the October 1 edition of Fox News’ Outnumbered, co-host Andrea Tantaros asserted her belief that the United States isn’t “as prepared as we think we are” to handle Ebola because “the government can’t even build a website. So I do have doubts and questions.” [Fox News, Outnumbered10/1/14

Fox’s Katie Pavlich: “Obama Sending Troops To Combat Ebola Worked Out Really Well.” In a September 30 tweet, Fox News contributor and Townhall.com editor Katie Pavlich tied the Ebola diagnosis in Texas to the Obama administration’s earlier efforts to combat the virus in Africa:

Well, Obama sending troops to combat Ebola worked out really well.

Fox’s Tammy Bruce: “The Obama Legacy Continues” With Ebola Diagnosis. In a September 30 tweet, Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce discussed the CDC’s confirmation of an Ebola diagnosis by asserting that it was part of the “Obama legacy.”

Gateway Pundit's Guest Blogger Scuttles Charity Deal To Assist Immigrants

Nothing yanks my chain faster than seeing a bald-faced lie fly around the Internet at lightning speed thanks to right-wing meme generators. Jim Hoft (Gateway Pundit) gets to keep his Right Wing Stupid Idiot award for this crap, which actually had consequences.

LGF tells the story about Taylor’s lie about a government contract to acquire a “resort” to house Central American immigrants waiting for asylum hearings.

Really? The “feds” are opening this “resort,” and it’s costing $50 million? Is any of that even remotely true?

Of course not — this is Jim Hoft and Gateway Pundit we’re talking about. As our previous post made very clear, the “feds” have nothing to do with this; a private faith-based charity made the bid on this facility, and it’s not even close to being a “luxury resort” — it’s a run-down motel that’s been on the market for sale since at least January 2013.

Since unarmed teenager Michael Brown was gunned down in a Ferguson street by police officer Darren Wilson, Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft, aka the Dumbest Man on the Internet, has basically turned his blog into a non-stop hate and distortion machine, publishing one racially charged post after another, making up stories out of thin air, and even linking to and stealing content from white supremacist sites. Hoft is getting off on whipping up racial hatred in a big way, and it’s frankly repulsive to watch.

Today he’s at it again, with another distorted post about the angry but peaceful city council meeting held last night in Ferguson, accusing the residents of “promising more chaos and rioting” unless Darren Wilson is charged: Ferguson Residents Promise More Chaos & Rioting if Officer Darren Wilson Not Charged (Video) | the Gateway Pundit.

Hoft illustrates his latest semi-literate effort with a photo stolen from Reuters that he’s used over and over in the past month:

The fact is that according to the article Hoft himself cites, the “residents” did not “promise more rioting” at all. One resident spoke up and said there would be more demonstrations unless Wilson faces charges.

But the distortions did the job, as usual, and Hoft’s far right readers respond in his comment section with absolutely open racism and hate speech, and calls for the black residents of Ferguson to be wiped out. Here’s a sample of this noxious ranting, hidden by default because it’s grossly offensive to normal human beings.

So the NAPAs [Ed. note: “North American Pavement Apes.”] are openly threatening to riot. Where is the color blind Holder & Barry on this???????

[…]

I Seriously Just Stay Away From All Blacks Now…They Could Chimpout At Any Moment…

[…]

Bring it on. I hope the riot so well this time Ferguson becomes a field of flowers.

[…]

I hope the police and prosecutors office stands their ground and does not give these thugs and grifters what they want.
Read them the Riot Act - then shoot to kill anyone violating the law.

[…]

These people are going to go apeshit… Let them go ahead and burn the rest of their own community down.

[…]

Hahaha Have at it! They’ll only destroy their own neighborhoods. Despite all their mouthing off and posturing they don’t dare come to “YT’s” neighborhood and pull their crap.

[…]

Leave the city to them. If you are white, you should leave the city as you are nothing now but a target.

[…]

Tomorrow’s News Headline: Feral Ferguson lynch mob threatens more looting, violence, and destruction unless they get their pound of flesh. Eric Holder approves vigilante justice for Blacks.

[…]

Every business and white human beings should immediately shut down and relocate . these apes should be left to themselves ,eventually they will kill each other out.

[…]

A shoe store was looted and not a single pair of work boots were stolen.

[…]

Maybe we could offer every citizen who doesn’t like our “white” laws a ten thousand dollar bonus and a free one-way trip to Liberia? With that much money they could live like kings; and they’d be “back home” where tribalism is normal and accepted. Win-win.

[…]

Well let’s see: the savages are seeking a government (TAXPAYER) BAILOUT for their rabid destruction of their town, and are now threatening to do more? Well I guess we’ll just have to send an innocent man to jail then. That about right you beasts?

[…]

And so white people will keep moving away from blacks, and Eric Holder will use the power of government to bring welfare blacks to the new white neighborhoods.

White people need to start defending themselves, and that includes slapping the crap out of their white liberal buddies.

[…]

I doubt if most of these illiterate apes could even fill out a speaker card.

[…]

Ferguson is simply being swallowed up by the expanding ghetto.
The MSM likes to call it white flight. But the fact is whites are driven out of their homes and businesses by black criminals ,intimidation and demands.
We just have a front row seat because of the Brown shooting

[…]

Start shooting them.

[…]

Sounds like a planned lynching to me … guilt or innocence doesn’t matter to them in the least.

[…]

The residents of Ferguson need to respond in kind to the bussed in rioters, preferably with lethal force if provoked.

[…]

*coloreds

[…]

It’s time to “lock & load.” Parents, your children will be shot when they act like little heathens this time. Property owners have had enough. Consider yourself warned.

Today at the website of the Dumbest Man on the Internet, we find Jim Hoft still pushing his discredited hoax that officer Darren Wilson suffered “facial fractures” in a struggle with teenager Michael Brown before shooting him down in the street: BREAKING: #MikeBrown Attorneys CONFRONTED on Officer Wilson’s Severe Facial Injuries (VIDEO) | the Gateway Pundit.

Exclusive to The Gateway Pundit-
Mike Brown Attorneys Asked About Officer Wilson Eye Fracture-

Micheal [sic] Brown’s attorneys and supporters held a rally today in front of the Ferguson Police Department.

Reporter Adam Sharp was there to confront the attorneys on Officer Darren Wilson’s severe injuries.

Here’s their response:

From the video:
Brown attorney: You cannot look the other way when the culprit is someone in your own police department or your own back yard. Any questions?

Reporter Adam Sharp: Is it true that Officer Wilson suffered facial fractures?

Attorney: That’s nothing that I’ve heard. I haven’t seen anything on it.

Reporter Sharp: There are numerous reports saying this…. Are you saying there were no facial injuries on Officer Wilson? Mr. Gray, you’re the attorney, do you know?

Attorney Anthony Gray: I tell you what. This is the way I’d answer that. Look at the video, moments after the shooting. You tell me if that’s somebody walking around, looking at Mike Brown Jr.’s body, if that person looked like he had any sort of facial injuries.

Reporter Sharp: So you’re saying there were no facial injuries to the officer?

Gray: I’ll tell you the video speaks louder than what I can tell you right now, sir. All you have to do is look at the tape. (applause) He’s standing there not one time does he touch his face.

So Hoft’s BIG EXCLUSIVE BREAKING BOMBSHELL for the day is that the Brown family’s attorneys basically laughed at this idiotic question from “reporter Adam Sharp.”

Oh, and who exactly is “reporter Adam Sharp?”

He’s one of the right wing clowns who writes for Jim Hoft’s ridiculous “sister site,” Progressives Today.

“Reporter Sharp.” You can’t make up this level of egomaniacal stupidity.
