The (Absolute) Beginning...

Saturday, December 20, 2015 - The first day of my last period.

Sunday, December 22, 2015 - My boyfriend finally asks me out, making us “official.”

Friday, February 13, 2015 - My boyfriend gives me a promise ring the day before Valentine’s day, saying he doesn’t need a special day out of the year to treat me to a little gift. (Even though a promise ring is no little gift - it’s a pretty huge thing in my book!)

Saturday, February 21, 2015 - I begin throwing up around 3am.

Sunday, February 22, 2015 - I have to call off work because I have no idea why I can’t hold anything down. My mother immediately suggests that I am pregnant, though I think that it’s impossible - sure it has been two months since I have had a period, but I’m normally irregular. I have PCOS so I don’t think that I could’ve actually gotten pregnant within the few months my boyfriend and I had been sleeping together. My boyfriend swings by in the evening and sneaks me over a pregnancy test to be taken in the morning.

Monday, February 23, 2015 - I took the pregnancy test this morning and…

The very moment my pee hit the test, two lines appeared. Positive. This was a positive pregnancy test.

Tuesday, February 24, 2015 - I go to the student health clinic and am tested positive there as well.

Thursday, February 26, 2015 - My mom and I take a test together. This comes back positive.

Wednesday, March 18, 2015 - After all sorts of schedule conflicts, I finally have the opportunity to go in for an ultrasound to get a more accurate sense of when the baby is due - we had used online calculators, but since I am irregular, there was the chance that they could have been wrong. After having a transvaginal ultrasound performed, I was confirmed pregnant with a due date that matches up with my last missed period. I was measuring 11w6d, though I was 12w4d along and due September 26, 2015. The little peanut has a heart rate of 168bpm, and s/he was super active and even waved hi at mommy, daddy, and grammy! We were all in tears.

And so, the story has begun…
