Striking Archival Images from 30 Years of the Hyéres Fashion Festival

Jean-Pierre Blanc dreamed up the Festival International de Mode in 1986, as part of a school project and case study for his business degree. He was 20 years old, and he wanted, he says, to “invent a moment for creative encounters that wasn’t too complicated.”

The Hyéres International Fashion & Photography Festival ended yesterday.  It was a full-on-fashion-glamour-affair: starring of course, Karl Lagerfeld who was not only showing an exhibition of his works of photography but also happened to be the artistic director of the festival’s 30th year. 

Among the attendance list were Carine Roitfeld and Caroline de Maigret, who was in the panel of judges for the 2015 Designer’s Competition included in the program.  Have a watch at some highlight featured in the video above, as well as a look at some samples of the Lagerfeld Exhibtion, Three Worlds.  The entire event took place with the background scene of Hyéres in the Provence Alps of Cotés d’uzur.
