“This is a night out for you. We do this everyday, and the one thing that we’re reminded of is that very seldom.. [girl screaming ‘I LOVE YOU MATTY’ annoyingly as he’s trying to connect with the fans].. don’t, don’t fuckin… listen, very seldom do you find yourself in an environment where you’re brought together by one thing. It doesn’t really matter what that is, but it doesn’t happen a lot. And I’m a true believer in the fact that art, whatever it is, music, any of it - it transcends all the superficial elements of life, like race or sexuality or gender or all the boring things that no one cares about. People can get behind music, and so I just want us all to be aware of that fact.” - Matty’s speech before Chocolate, Huntington, NY 12.9.14
