Today in Republican Hypocrisy: Huckabee's Beyonce shade at the Obamas.

I just fell into an internet spiral of ridiculous proportions and now I have to share.  I’m not sure if I’m late because I didn’t have as much time to keep up with the news on vacation but this is what just happened:

  1. This Poor Michelle post just showed up on my feed.

    (lol!….but also awwww….but also…what?)
  2. Apparently Mike Huckabee has been talking smack about Beyonce.  That part I already knew, but I missed his little digs at The Obamas for allowing their daughters to listen to Bey.
  3. Mike Huckabee’s son got fired from his camp counselling job because he hung a stray dog, threw rocks at it, then slit it open.

The moral of the story is, don’t critique anybody’s parenting when you clearly raised a psychopath.

Marriage News Watch - “Politician Wants Arrests After Gays Marry: Jan 26 MNW”

10

"A cult film, also commonly referred to as a cult classic, is a film that has acquired a cult following. Cult films are known for their dedicated, passionate fanbase, an elaborate subculture that engage in repeated viewings, quoting dialogue, and audience participation."

Women who use birth control do not have an “overactive libido.” We are not looking for a handout from “Uncle Sugar” to score a contraceptive fix. We are not sluts. This is not the reality for women — it never has been and never will be.
—  Sandra Fluke has a memo for former Governor Mike Huckabee and the politicians trying to take away women’s access to affordable birth control: It’s not about libido. It’s basic preventive health care.
…former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee dismissed criticism for his harmonizing with the racist gun-nut rocker on the song “Cat Scratch Fever,” claiming that “Ted changed the lyrics pretty dramatically when he sang it” on stage with Huckabee. Since every line of the song is about Nugent’s purportedly numerous, frequent, non-stop sexual exploits, it’s difficult to imagine what a “clean” or “family friendly” version could ever sound like. But the video clearly shows that Nugent didn’t change any of the song’s raunchy lyrics, and that Huckabee didn’t seem to mind. The video clearly shows that Huckabee lied. You can elevate yourself as the arbiter of godly, wholesome family values or you can jam with Ted Nugent on “Cat Scratch Fever,” but you cannot do both. And none of Mike Huckabee’s lies can change that.
If the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing them for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it.
—

Former GOP presidential candidate and conservative blowhard MIKE HUCKABEE, in a speech to the Republican National Committee in Washington on Thursday.

"Uncle Sugar" thinks Democrats think women "cannot control their libido."

Christ almighty.

(via The Washington Post)

Birth control is basic health care for millions of women, and the Affordable Care Act’s birth control benefit ensures that women can get affordable access to it. But some (coughHuckabeecough) are misleading Americans on what the birth control benefit actually means, and we’d like to clear the record.

So, is Obamacare making taxpayers pay the bill for other people’s no-cost birth control? No. It’s just included in the better coverage under the plan you already have.

(p.s. Spread the word.)

Why Beyonce Is 1,000 Times a Better Role Model than Mike Huckabee Will EVER Be

In his new book, Mike Huckabee criticizes “Beyonce as role model” - let’s see what HE’S modeling.

LGBTQIA+

Huckabee stated in 1992, “I feel homosexuality is an aberrant, unnatural, and sinful lifestyle, and we now know it can pose a dangerous public health risk”. He stuck by those comments in December 2007 when asked if homosexuality is sinful. He replied, “Well I believe it would be — just like lying is sinful and stealing is sinful. There are a lot of things that are sinful. It doesn’t mean that a person is a horrible person. It means that they engage in behavior that is outside the norms of those boundaries of our traditional view of what’s right and what’s wrong. So, I think that anybody who has, maybe a traditional worldview of sexuality would classify that as an unusual behavior that is not traditional and that would be outside those bounds.”

Huckabee has voiced opposition to both same-sex marriage and civil unions. He says that Americans should respect gay couples, but no gay adoptions should take place. He signed legislation outlawing same-sex marriage in Arkansas.”

Abortion / Reproductive Freedom

Mike Huckabee is strongly opposed to abortion, including in cases of rape or incest. He has stated that abortion should be legal only when the life of the mother is at risk.[1] He believes that it would “most certainly” be a good day for America if Roe v. Wade were repealed.”

Someone needs to send The Beygency after this career bigot and hate-monger.

Exclusive: Donald Trump has no interest in running for President, aide says

Donald Trump, the CEO of the Trump Organization who has conducted numerous television and magazine interviews over the past several weeks, has no serious intention of running for the office of the President, a source with close knowledge of the matter said.

Trump has been thrust into the media spotlight over the past few weeks, criticizing President Barack Obama’s current term in office and questioning the authenticity of his American citizenship.

The overwhelming amount of political criticism and willingness to conduct media interviews since the beginning of the year have led many to speculate whether the real estate mogul would officially announce a 2012 Presidential bid.

However, a source close to the matter told ProducerMatthew.com Trump has “no current interest in conducting a serious Presidential run” for next year.

Reaching out to ProducerMatthew.com one week ago by e-mail, the source, who wants to be identified only as “an aide or assistant” close to Trump and employed by the Trump Organization, said Trump’s willingness to conduct interviews over the past several weeks have been “attempts to gain exposure.” The source did not say what the exposure was or wasn’t for.

Once again, Mike Huckabee demonstrates all the “modern thinking” of a 1950’s sitcom. Doubling down on his absurd “Uncle Sugar” comments, Huckabee said this week that women should be treated with “a sense of pedestal" and "as a special treasure.”

It’s not what he says that’s the problem—it what he, and the politicians like him who push dangerous restrictions on women’s rights and health, actually think. A little tip, Governor Huckabee: Women don’t want pedestals, they want respect.

Conservatives say @HillaryClinton’s book is tanking. Here are some GOP  stars & their book sales. #Math!

Republicans who have similarly aimed to boost their profile with a book — Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis.), Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee — have paled in comparison. In fact, Clinton’s two weeks of sales top the total sales to date of books by Paul, Rubio, Bush, Ryan, Walker and Huckabee — combined.

Clinton isn’t the only one putting conservative book sales to shame. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a liberal sweetheart to whom many have dished the big 2016 question, has sold more than 65,000 copies of A Fighting Chance since its April release, almost doubling the leading seller of the Republican bunch.

Huckabee leads the GOP authors with 35,503 copies sold. Rubio is right behind him with just over 35,000 sales. None of the others has hit 20,000. Bush has sold fewer than 5,000 copies of his book, Immigration Wars.

It’s no surprise Clinton’s books aren’t hitting the same numbers as bestseller The Fault in Our Stars, but conservatives may want to consider the success of their own book sales before describing Clinton’s as “horrendous.”
