Jamillah and I managed to wear all of this gear outside yesterday on our first adventure with Iceland Offroad. We wore ice spikes to trek around the national park and some waterfalls without slipping around everywhere and it was so cold i had to buy a new hat to put on top of the one  already had.

I cannot even begin to tell you how freezy it was changing out of 3 layers of pants and 4 layers of shirts into a bathing suit inside the tiny turf house next to this itty bitty hotpot in the middle of nowhere, but it was totally worth it.

Iceland is rad. Even when it’s especially icy.

This hot spring is called Hrunalaug, it lies next to a farm in the middle of nowhere Iceland. For many years this place was used as a sheep’s bath by the landowner, now anyone can come soak for free as long as they want. I showed up at 4 in the morning, slept in the car for a few hours then woke up and hiked into this place. I soaked for hours here, ate breakfast read a bit and shot some photos. I imagine this is how hobbits live.
