This is just a list of 6 albums that had big meaning in my life at one point or another and why.
Bad Religion - The Gray Race: This album came out my freshmen year of high school and became the anthem of my journey into Straight Edge…something that ultimately saved my life.
Everlast - Whitey Ford Sings the Blues: The album i listened to the most while in Iowa for college. Ends was the anthem of my time living in suburban wealth as a complete outcast who came from nothing.
Wallflowers - Bringing Down The Horse/Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness: These were the 2 albums i played on loop for months while i went through the worst depression of my life after returning home a failure at college. I bought both of them from a Blockbuster Video and it still weirds me out to drive by where it used to be.
Loudon Wainwright III - Strange Weirdos: Knocked Up was a good movie but the amazing soundtrack made me fall in love with Wainwright. Every time i listen to this album it makes me happy and reflective on the good things in my life.
Taylor Swift - Taylor Swift: An amazing debut album that released around the time i was getting into writing spoken word. This album gave me the idea that i could also write song lyrics. Teardrops on my Guitar is still my favorite T-Swift song and i credited Taylor along with Henry Rollings for my first spoken word album The Muffin Is Truth.
