I met with my consultant Peggy for the first time today, and left with 21 shakes and porridges. She was great, and has been using Cambridge for years and years. Her scales were slightly kinder than mine (which had me over 11 stone) but still show me at the heaviest I’ve ever been. Almost a stone heavier than I’ve ever been. We agreed that I could lose three stone starting with Sole Source, and also that my fluid intake is abysmal and I must drink more if I’m to survive on this plan.

As I was leaving, Peggy advised me to keep a journal and take photos. Since my puppy is asleep on my lap right now, the pictures will have to come later. Maybe a lot later; I’m not sure I can face putting things like that on the internet any time soon! However, I really like the idea of keeping a record of what I’m going through, so here goes!

I had my first shake (chocolate with warm water) and am currently trying to throw a pint of carbonated water down my throat. I feel hungry already, but I think it’s probably in anticipation of what’s to come. Right now I am quietly determined, and I know my willpower will outweigh my hunger for a few days.
