Of course rainy weather also meant bingeing on anything & everything I can get/find - pizza delivery included.

This is fairly small for me. I thought it would be bigger considering the price. The pizza is an okay remedy for a “please-I-feel-like-I-need-a-reward-for-the-horrible-weather” problem. :) I could do without the pineapples, though. This pizza is good for one.

Remember when I said “as if we did not have enough cakes already”?

This is an example - my mom’s friends gave her this adorable (it tastes a little less adorable) pink fondant cake. I think it’s a pound cake and it’s covered in a sweet sweet fondant. Easily a 10 for it’s prettiness, but a little disappointing because it falls apart easily and is a bit dry and I’m a sucker for cakes with moisture and only but the slightest hint of flour.

Do you realize                                                                                                                that everyone you know

someday will die -

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes                                                                      Let them know

You realize that life goes fast
It’s hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn’t go down
It’s just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Anyways, we would have to participate in these study sessions - my classmates and I, sometimes all night long, and so I baked, so no one would go hungry while we worked. Sometimes I would bake all afternoon in the kitchen in the dorm, and then I’d bring my little treats to the study groups and people loved them. I made Oatmeal Cookies, Peanut Butter Bars, Dark Chocolate Macadamia Nut Wedges, and everyone would eat and stay happy and study harder and do better in the tests - and then more and more people started coming to the study groups and I’d bring more of snacks and I was always looking for better and better recipes until soon it was Ricotta Cheese and Apricot Croissants, and Mocha Bars with an Almond Glaze, and Lemon Chiffon Cake with Zesty Peach Icing. At the end of the semester, I had 27 study partners, 8 Mead journals filled with recipes, and a D average. So I dropped out. I just figured if I was going to make the world a better place, I would do it with cookies.

I’m starting this blog with my favorite snack - milk and cookies :) For tonight (today is Holy Thursday, btw, and I’m alone in Manila while my family is in Cebu), I’m getting my cookie fix from Chips Ahoy (I especially like the chunky kind), microwaved for 20 seconds until the chocolate chips are just about to crack open in a blistered melted goodness. No wonder it’s Santa’s favorite snack. Night!
