For the first time, I am actually extremely frustrated with the result of Master Chef. Elizabeth deserved this way more than Courtney. Of course, we have no way of knowing how all their dishes tasted, but to me, the deciding factor of the winner shouldn’t just be what they put on the plate at the finale, but their performance as a whole throughout the show. Their ability to handle pressure situations. Their ability to lead and direct team members without yelling or putting them down. Their ability to make creative dishes with finesse. And of course their ability to deliver. Elizabeth is leaps and bounds better than Courtney on all of these accounts and I will never change my mind about that. Elizabeth is simply the better chef. She never even went to a pressure test! She’s consistently smart with her plating and her usage of ingredients. She’s consistently calm, cool, and collected during every test (except she got a little frazzled at the beginning of the finale). She’s consistently a natural leader. She does an incredible job at directing team members and including them in the process without ever putting them down. Elizabeth deserved this way more. Sure, I’m sorry Courtney felt she had to be a stripper to pay the bills, but that is no reason to give her the MasterChef trophy. Courtney would not have even been in the finale if Leslie had not made that simple salt/sugar switch mistake. Courtney had numerous occassions where she did not deliver. Cakes are supposedly her favorite thing for pete’s sake! I’m extremely dissappointed and will forever believe Elizabeth was the true winner this season.
