Twin rainbow giraffes! The pink one is for adoption (the teal one is going to a commissioner). These cuties are mostly handmade wool felt and batiks, with needle felted head nubbins and wool tail with sheep locks.
This is a terribly sad day. A few weeks ago I met a remarkable giraffe named Kili. He was rescued by the extraordinary people @DSWT (David Shedlrick’s Wildlife Trust) in August when he was just days old. He had been found wandering alone in the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro. I was lucky enough to hang out with him and chat at his little night-time stable.
Kili passed away yesterday. Heartbreaking news. My love goes out to all his keepers at David Sheldrick’s who did such a wonderful job caring for him alonside the 30 orphaned elephants who would become his friends.
Rest peacefully little Kili.
Please share this post and celebrate Kili’s short life.
