So the all the little continent Cups are the 10 year summer, but the World Cup (the winter) is coming? Which countries should be each House though? (i am so glad you like game of thrones/SIAF too)

OOOOOOH THIS COULD GET INTERESTING

  • Okay so Die Mannschaft would be the Lannisters because they’re all blonde and blue-eyed, which makes Mesut a bastard child sadly and maybe Philipp Lahm would be Tyrion
  • what else

I agree with your tags. It doesn’t matter how old you are. Football is for everyone. We are all connected by our love of Real Madrid. :) Yay!

football fandom has no age limit

I meant I feel like I’m in the older demographic for the Tumblr footie fandom, where I get to vicariously re-live my secondary education years via fml-esque posts about how much people hate their inevitably dumb high-schooling peers.

But absolutely, there are no limits (age or otherwise) for throwing yourself headfirst into the football fandom, be you

check the bein sports website though, because they said they would keep streaming online until it got picked up

This site sucks already because they put guido Messi in the middle. But also they said the free stream will stop when the channel launches Aug. 15, which is 4 days before the RM-Valencia game?

HAHAHAHAH i love reading posts about high school on tumblr

Reading about people stressing about exams/ homework for high school or college makes me really happy about my status as a working person with good hours. You leave your work behind by 5PM. What a luxury.

LOL!!! Well, by that standard I’m old/er/ too. I’ve been in college a few years. (You are right, I do see lots of high schoolers around.) But I love the gifs you choose, lol.

A picture is worth a thousand words; a good gif is worth a thousand not-moving pictures.

i think everyone is too old for the tumblr-esq footie fan posts like “omg! one of my classmates who likes man u didn’t know who *obscure player* was! no one near me likes footie! *gif, gif, gif, gif, gif*”

This is the truest of truths. Everyone take note, we’re only gonna say this once.

oh my god girl caveat emptor I only hope I don’t steer you wrong, as I’m still trying to walk that line myself, but I do think it’s doable and thank you for your kind words

not the 25 meter race of this year. she graduated. BUT THE POLO, YES. also: be a life guard. that shit pays 11.50+ an hour

I can’t even imagine any universe in which I am PAID to watch Iker Casillas wincing to keep chlorine out of his eyes and like if I were their lifeguard during a water polo match I would just assume they were all drowning and go to each and every one of their assistances and wrap my limbs around theirs because you know what better safe than sorry just looking out for their well-being ya know

an the DFB are hungry for the throne! England could be the Greyjoys. What would Italy be? I’m thinking Tyrells or like the Targaryens, cause they had the “throne” previous to Spain.

Oy I’m still at the start of Season 2, so the Baratheons are still reining (minus the disqualification via incest but whatever - and no spoilers if this isn’t the case any longer!). That would make Spain the Baratheons?

And hold up wait watch this hilarious catchy ballad parody that Hae-Song’s just ask-boxed

freezing while watching real madrid »»»»»»> freezing while watching my college football team (which I am a total fair-weather fan of, idgaf).

In my four years at college,

I went to one football game

to throw toast onto the field after the third quarter

because that is a “tradition” of ours

not even sure enduring the first three quarters was worth it to toss a piece of bread onto the field.

american football is only ok if you really want the team to win (case in point: Oregon Ducks). But after watching them live at Autzen, freezing (they LOST) I would rather check in on their progress via ESPN/Twitter in the warmth of my house.

Yooooo that’s the other thing — NOTHING compares to the atmosphere of a soccer stadium when you’re with your fellow diehard fans. Rain or shine or 107 degrees fahrenheit (I have done the latter for RM and I would melt in my own sweat, and more, to watch them again)

gingerjakeblues answered your questionMy stream died; what happened to Cris??

He was subbed off, (Higuian in) seemed to be in pain due to a thigh/hamstring injury. He was hit in the ankle area, twisted, and went down.

Ow ow ow hey I’m wearing an ankle brace too Cris, I totally know what you’re going through

ellyfootballlover answered your question: My stream died; what happened to Cris??

I think he got a little injury when colliding against a granada player, when the other one got a red card!

Ack, I’d rather have Ronaldo fit and healthy and no Granada players sent off, but since when have the footballing gods heeded my humble requests

real madrid are like a diesel engine- they might take a 1-2 games to really get going. And besides, multiple players not on R.M would also be “burnt out” from the Euros. And you, M.Sunshine, are right

cisarovna replied to your postThe RM players are burned out after playing in the euros+last season. They all need a looooong vacation or else they will all be in for a terrible season.

i think it is all a bit distorted. our first game was against oneof the traditionally tougher teams in the league. this game was just a bit stupid. but there it always at least one stupid game.

You’re both on point, I think. Valencia finished in good form last season, and stupid games inevitably make their way into the fixtures. Mou made a comment about how Getafe has given us trouble in their home stadium. So let’s take these couple games (but not many more please and thank you) to warm up the machine; we shan’t panic ‘til the fat lady sings

castilladropout asked:

Hey, have you read any of The Secret Footballer column on the Guardian website? Although this anonymous footballer writes about the life of footballers in the Premier league, it's still a very interesting read, and he writes with a very good voice-both funny, colloquial, but still very melancholic. If you have a chance to read through a few articles, I highly recommend it.

Haven’t read this yet, but I’ll sneak in some reading (or conspicuously shirk my work) at work tomorrow. Does this anonymous insider confirm/deny our wild speculations about footballers most private moments? Scrolling through some titles now, answering my own question with a no, but adding that these topics sound fascinating.

Publishing because I’m sure others might be interested too! Thanks girl

gingerjakeblues replied to your post: marcelovieira replied to your post: since you’re…

As someone in California, I can say that Spanish-speaking teams and leagues have a good amount of popularity here. EPL>most though. However, broadcasted RM games would be shown in bars.

There you go. The other thing is though, when I do see a person wearing any shirt from La Liga… 9/10 it’s Barca. Same with the bar crowd at El Clasicos. So when they address you, they just say, “Hey, Marcelo…” (but I was honored to bear his name & shirt)

gingerjakeblues replied to your post: since you’re in a job now, does this mean you won’t be able to watch any football next season?

you can also listen in on the radio and record the matches at home. i listened in on the euros at work. oh, and congratulations on getting a job! :)

Muchas gracias; and how does one record matches without DVR or Tivo or blue ray or bluetooth or dropbox or whatever the hell technology is appropriate for recording TV things?

I’m just sad ESPN isn’t in charge of broadcasting ALL Real Madrid games. Having the entirety of Euros 2012 on their (more often than not) crystal clear stream and having the replays at my finger tips really spoiled me. Now I’m going to be back to the crapshoot that is Veetle and other shady sites that look like their design hasn’t changed since the late 90’s
