After 14 years together, I’m finally going to the #SoundofMusic sing-a-long. This just goes to show you, boys, that you need to be ready to do anything for the one you love. Anything. (at Hollywood Bowl)

ANNOUNCEMENT: True Blood’s Stephen Moyer will star in NBC’s The Sound of Music.
The British actor will appear opposite Carrie Underwood in the Dec. 5 live holiday production, NBC announced today.
Moyer will portray decorated World War I hero Capt. Georg Von Trapp, the single father of seven children. Living in Austria on the cusp of World War II, the militaristic but warm-hearted Von Trapp engages a young governess, Maria (Underwood), whom he hires to take care of his children. #trueblood #stephenmoyer #nbc #soundofmusic #carrieunderwood

These are a few of my favorite things….

(from The Digital Pathology Blog, words by Keith Kaplan)

Fungus on toenails and whiskers on a nevus

Bright green cassettes and white woven gauze squares

Oriented skin ellipses tied up with strings

This is why I think histology’s fun

Cream colored colon and pilonidal cysts

Tonsils and appendix and bone marrows with clots

Sharp blades that shine as they slice through the block

This is why I think histology’s fun

When the part type

Needs to be changed

And the pathologist’s mad

I simply remember “Histology’s fun!” and then I don’t feel so bad!

Giemsa on pylori and silver on Candida

No need to change bed pans, we keep behind the scene

Diaminobenzidine and some fast red

This is why I think histology’s fun

When the breast case

Needs to be inked

And I’m out of black

I simply remember “Histology’s fun!” and then I don’t feel so bad!

Big scary bandsaw can cut up a femur

Trichromes and Gram stains and eosin with safranin

Tiny round cross sections of Fallopian tube

This is why I think histology’s fun

Techs in green scrub pants with blue nitrile gloves on

Paraffin that sticks to my nails and eyeglasses

Transparent Schiff’s reagent turning to pink

This is why I think histology’s fun

When the slide breaks

When my ice melts

And the coverslipper is jammed

I simply remember “Histology’s fun!” and then I don’t feel so bad!

Goddamn Goddamn...

I’ve only seen 18 of the 100 movies on this list!! What.the.hell. I swear to God I always thought of myself as this badass movie buff who saw everythang…guess I was wrong. Well this whole thing is for me to actually earn that title “movie buff”. I mean, I still consider myself to be one, just not as knowledgeable as I thought I was. There are some classics out there I am ashamed of never having watched *cough*The Big Lebowski*cough*Psycho*cough*Breakfast at Tiffany’s*cough*!!!

Sorry there, I have a bit of a sore throat…

In all seriousness though, I present to you the movies that I have already seen!!

Good variety here, but I have 82 more movies to watch and review! No biggie, right? Also, what is the Sixth Sense doing on this list? Yeah, I’m not claiming to understand all of the choices that were made…
