Cyclist vs. pedestrian

Why is it that pedestrians like to proceed out into the street in front of me on my bike like I don’t exist?

This morning, I was hauling ass with traffic , and because of the way the lights changed I had gotten a little out in front of the rest of the cars approaching the next intersection where there was a green light and this idiot PUSHES HER KID OUT IN THE STROLLER RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I mean I had to be pushing 25 mph… I always sprint through that section of my commute because the traffic is so heavy and the bike lane is pretty invisible to most drivers. Anyway, only by virtue of my years of motorcycle riding and cycling… I locked up my back wheel and pulled a controlled skid out around the stroller. I’m lucky I didn’t get hit by the car coming up behind me… Or hit the kid. It wouldn’t have gone well for someone with less experience. Then this woman has the nerve to yell at me! All I could do was point at the green light, tell her to open her eyes, and continue on.

I just hate that cyclists get no respect around here, even when we have our own lanes and follow the rules of the road like everyone else.

Don’t even get me started on the cars.

No strong synthetic antihistamines needed!…..

Drink water- And lots of it.This one is a biggie! At least and I mean least 8 glasses a day or more. One of the most basic yet amazing things you can do for your body. Flush out toxins by drinking water.

Eat Ginger- Ginger steeped in tea with honey if you like it sweet will help to break up chest congestion and loosen phlegm. Along with other benefits such as settling an upset stomach It strengthens the immune system and acts as a natural antihistamine. Bonus. You can also add it to smoothies and juices.

Steaming- Add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to a bowl of hot water and carefully inhale the steam.

Drink these teas:

peppermint- Released nasal and sinus congestion

Chamomile- Reputed to relieve hay fever symptoms, you can also inhale chamomile oil if you can get your hands on some!
