I’m embarrassed and broken-hearted over the vote for No.
This was our own opportunity to make history, to make a difference. Do you see other countries giving their citizens the right to choose independence? Better yet, do you see other countries’ citizens refusing independence?
Today could have been a new chapter in Scottish history, in a country of our own choosing. Instead, the sun rises on the British Empire again, and we look on wearily toward the dawn, wondering when the next sunset will be.
