L4D2 Modified Talker

Downloaded this yesterday.  I’ve figured out for a while now that I can tell survivors thank you for healing me or saving me and that they’d respond.  However, this mod can make this automatic at times (ie- I’ve had Nick say thank you on his own, without my input, while I’m playing as him).  It also makes the bots say it to each other as well.

They seem more talkative with this mod installed overall and every once in a while, things are popping up that I’ve never heard before (I said sorry to Ro for shooting her and her response was something like a bunch of “Oh!”s that made it sound like my apology was an afront or something :( ).

Also, as far as I’m aware of, there used to be a bug where Coach and Ellis would go as silent as death if Nick died.  Valve fixed this bug.  The mod maker claimed to not know how to fix the problem, but the mod itself reverts the Valve change, so unless this was fixed, that bug will pop up if you have this mod installed.

If you’ve ever played the Downtown Dine campaign, that mod apparently has this mod in it.

Garbage campaign

The reason being is that whoever made the last map should be hit in the face with a skillet.  First bullshit thing was I needed to get 12 cans of gas for the fucking car when I play on easy (it’s only 8 for the same fucking car, on easy, in Dead Center).  Second bullshit thing was when I got the car all gassed up, the rescue music started playing and…  fucking bullshit mod told me to go get a battery for the goddamned car.  Ended up getting TWO fucking tanks on us and we all died.  So seriously, fuck the piece of shit who did this map.  Ending made the whole thing a total waste of fucking time.  Someone seriously needs to sit down and learn how to make an enjoyable map, because that is anything but.

I’m absolutely disgusted by how this trash has such a high rating (4 stars on Workshop).  Apparently people who play this game have no taste.

this mod is not that great.  too long (especially the catacombs level) and he uses entirely too many fucking tanks (hello, why the hell do I have to fight two tanks at once?  what is your fucking problem?).  also has entirely too many hordes and not enough supplies.  the finale is also flat out stupid as well, with poorly placed medkits.

the custom weapons are neat (broken bottle and bones).  the newscasts were a nice touch and the werewolf tank was nice the first time i saw one (would have been neater had i not seen them all the goddamned time).  otherwise, meh campaign.  i’d say skip it.

edit to add: the only custom music i liked was the music that played in the remains of the church in the graveyard.  rest was forgettable.

oddly enough, his other campaign, One 4 Nine, is one of my favorites and doesn’t have these stupid problems in them.
