For that anon, have you tried soy or almond milk? Both are delicious, and a great sub to milk. Before workouts (especially in the morning) I like to have some oatmeal with berries (try to make your own oats, not the packaged stuff). It keeps you full, and I never get cramps. I tend to eat ~1 hour before I workout though.
