Earlier today on Netweather someone started a forum topic asking what people’s favourite mountain ranges were. As a keen hillwalker with a wealth of ranges under my feet I thought it would take me ages to decide…..but to my surprise one name instantly leapt to mind.
Torridon. Less a mountain range and more an informal collection of hills with a shared geology. Whatever its description, it gets my vote.
Monolithic hills rising from blanket bog, airy ridges, sparkling quartzite outcrops, sea views, sense of space and some of the most remote and beautiful walking to be had anywhere in these islands. Absolutely stunning…….so I thought I’d share some of my photos from that part of the world.
