SIG Sauer P226 Extreme

Available in 9x19mm or .40 S&W this steel framed pistol is just 1 of the 25 variations of the P226 available from SIG Sauer. It’s distinguishing features are the custom Hogue G10 grips and SIGLITE Night Sights. I never really had an opinion on SIG pistols until an MK25 showed up at the shop. After getting a feel for it, seriously considering buying a SIG. (GRH)

I dynamically followed megatronthefett's 5 Tactical Gun Posing Tips today.

Five steps to posing with a firearm. 1. Lick the gun, this means you’re sexual and you pew pew 2. Make reference to having big guns while flexing so people don’t know which one you’re talking about. 3. Kiss your weapon, it means you love it. 4. CCW or at least pretend you do, no need for a belt, holster or loose clothing, it’s just a picture no one will know you’re only pretending. 5. Talk tactical, even if you have no idea what you’re talking about. #igmilitia

A special commemorative  U.S Army Special Forces Ingram MAC-10 in .45 ACP. Contrary to what some people believe, the MAC-10 was used in the Vietnam War due to its simplicity and reliability. The design itself has been copied several times over the years but it’s official designation is the M10. The term/name MAC-10 came about because the original manufacturer was Military Armament Corporation. (GRH)

Can someone explain to me the advantages of porting snub nosed resolver barrels?

I don’t know that much about it so I might be missing something but it seems like the losses would be worse than what would be gained from doing this. The barrel is already short so efficient powder burn is going to be minimal as is(and I would assume lessened by the porting) and I also assume that putting holes in a barrel that short would be a detriment to accuracy. The only positive I can fathom is that it might reduce recoil.

Some examples:

Why not just get a threaded barrel and put a muzzle brake on though?

Taurus Judge

The .45 Long Colt / .410 Gauge revolver that has it’s equal share of people who love and hate it. Although known as the Judge, the revolver originally carried the designation Tracker 4410. It’s infamous name change was supposedly the result of Taurus getting word that several judges in the Florida area had armed themselves with the Tracker 4410. (GRH)
