Sebastien Feraut's art is among the most uncompromising I've ever seen. Each piece has the visual saturation of a heroic dose of mushrooms combined with the execution of…well, something not quite human. The few compositions that aren’t completely maniacal feel a bit more malevolent, making the just-barely restrained character of Feraut’s larger pieces somehow comforting by comparison.
There are too many visible influences to properly order, too. Pop art, Cubism, psychedelia, graffiti, surrealism, ad infinitum and with copious intermingling. It’s hypnotic and obscenely energizing art that’s just a nanometer shy of completely mad. And, as such, it’s absolutely beautiful.
