I love shooting at Rock City because there’s nothing physically harder for me to do than be crouched against the stage with the kids that come to these shows. I had to shoot primes wide-open to keep my ISO under 1600, which meant handing off lenses to Alec in the middle of each set. I was kicked in the head and almost crushed by a monitor that came loose, and I left soaking wet as usual; not to mention that the room caps off around 100 people.
There’s just something awesome about playing and shooting small local venues… Everyone is so much more excited. They act a little better toward each other because they’re so close together, and they’re all from the same town. I don’t think I’ll ever stop bringing my camera to shows like this.
Still editing the 30GB I shot on Friday, haven’t even gotten to the 20GB I shot today. Shooting more tomorrow… Then printing/matting lots of things and then picking Alex up at the airport. EDITING PARTY NEVAR STOPS.
