Another data point showing that email opens on mobile devices have passed the half mark. Yes, everything is going mobile…but should we retire this motto as we start 2014? We may be beating a pretty dead horse at this point. And there are a couple related trends that emerged in 2013 that will be gathering strength in 2014: everything (and everyone) is becoming quantified and everything is getting connected. Take one quick look at the CES coverage (from, say, Engadget) and it becomes obvious that consumer electronics manufacturers are betting on these trends in a major way.
We post this chart from Marketing Charts every time they update (monthly it looks) because the trend in smartphone penetration doesn’t show any sign of flagging. We’re now at 70% penetration and guess what, it’s fueling the “everything is going mobile” in a big way.
